CDV photograph of Civil War Confederate General Ambrose Powell Hill marked on bottom "Entered according to Act of Congress in the year 1862 by E Anthony in the clerks office of the District Court of the U.S. for the So. District of New York" 2.5" X 4". Hill was promoted to lieutenant general in command of the III Corps, he had a prominent role in the Battle of Gettysburg (July). He was engaged in the Battle of the Wilderness (May 1864) and at Petersburg (April 1865), where he was killed.
