Native American Inuit Eskimo folk art soapstone sculpture "STANDING BEAR" by Notaraluk Iyaituk from Ivujiuik. He is one of the more famous Inuit sculptors. Certified as done by an Eskimo artist by the Canadian Government, this impressive, museum quality piece is 19" Tall and sits on a plastic swiveling base. It is signed on bottom. Notaraluk's sculptures are exhibited in many museums in Canada. It was purchased for $4000 in 1974. downstairs back.
