Edouard Debat-Ponsan (France, 1847-1913) 1888 pasture scene and a boy courting a lady. Ponsan was an extraordinary French Academic painter and student of the famed Cabanel. Set in an antique hand carved wood floral frame that has evidence of a varnish to protect the wood. Pieces of 19th century wood crate used as frame backing, This reads, "Brady & Chade?, Stamford, Connecticut. Handle with Care." Appears to be a print but not inspected out of frame. Heavy foxing from wood back due to 19th century non acid free surface. Measures 31" x 27" framed. Contents of Scarsdale art collector estate. Items located in THORNWOOD. Much of the art needs research. Please refer to pictures for condition. Please bring help, tools, boxes, wrap, blankets, tools, equipment and the appropriate vehicle for SAFE removal.
