After 50+ years of collecting straight razors, Robert A. Doyle will be offering at auction his life-time collection of fancy and unusual straight razors. Doyle, an Auctioneer/Appraiser/Real Estate Broker, started collecting at 16 years of age and has just turned sixty-seven. When asked why straight razors? Doyle responded, "They are small, beautiful, historic, one-of-a-kind artistic pieces that are nearly impossible to reproduce. There are no "fakes" to be concerned with." He continued, "It is time to allow others the opportunity to own and enjoy these beautiful shaving tools. The straight razor was the most prized personal tool of men through the ages." Copies of the book, Celluloid Handle Guide for Straight Razor Collectors, Reflecting on Fifty Years of Handle Designs (1870-1920) are available.

Payment is due by Tuesday, July 17 at 1PM.

Pickup in Pleasant Valley, NY must be completed by Friday, July 20 at 3PM.

Uniquely shaped wedge blade. Mother of pearl represents the top of the line. Carved multi-panel pearl handle, 3 panels each side attached to shaped metal liners. Fancy cast metal head end caps. Rarely will you find surviving examples of these early pearl handle. There is evidence of an early repair in the tang end of the front side. German silver elongated escutcheon plate.  Very rare.
