Two ornate metal folding SLAYTON RAZORS. Two different sizes. Dated 1879. Rare. Nelson B. Slayton of Rochester, NY invented this rarity. The two known variations are being sold here together. Good luck on acquiring these! These two razors were featured by Kurt Moe in "THE RAZOR ANTHOLOGY" book on page 105 of his article titled SLAYTON RAZOR AND KNIFE. (THE RAZOR ANTHOLOGY: A collection of selected articles about razors reprinted from monthly issues of Knife World. Copyright 1995 Knife World Publications. Illustrated, 246 pages. The book contains 72 articles by various authors. However, it is important to note that of the 72 articles Kurt Moe authored 53 of them. 73.6% of the book was comprised of Kurt's thoughts and examples from his extensive collection. Reference will be made on individual lot offerings featured in the book of the article title and page number. A limited supply of this book is available at $25 including shipping anywhere in the USA.)

Straight razor. JOHN PRIMBLE. One of the hardest to find fancy, figural imitation ivory celluloid handle patterns witnessed in my book. This razor handle pattern is #2 in the book "Celluloid Handle Guide for Straight Razor Collectors Reflecting on Fifty Years of Handle Designs (1870-1920)" By Robert A. Doyle. It is actually a better example, more detail, than the example in my book. Very rare.
