Straight Razor Auction Ending 9/16

This offering of rare and unusual straight razors comes from the Estate of Kurt Moe of Minnesota. Kurt was an avid collector of straight razors and a personal friend of over forty years. Kurt bought many of these examples from me over the past forty plus years. This second session contains many unique, one of a kind straight razors and razor sets including celluloid, carved bone, figural cast aluminum, antique stag, sterling silver, tortoise shell, black buffalo horn & more. Kurt and his wife collected many other categories of memorabilia including antique toys, banks, tins, soda fountain items and advertising. We will be offering all of these items at auction in upcoming sessions.

Payment is due by Wednesday, September 18 at 1PM.

Pickup in Pleasant Valley, NY must be completed by Wednesday, September 18 at 3PM.

All lots sold as is, where is. There is a 15% Buyers Premium for all lots purchased. Payment methods include cash, MC, Visa, Discover or good check. You can make credit card payment online by going to your Member Area and selecting your invoice.

#31 – Straight razor. Freije & Asha. Very ornate, rare figural celluloid handle pattern with awesome color. I believe this maker is the only one to witness this rare handle pattern. This example has celluloid tang scales. The blade is nicely etched COLUMBUS. This razor handle pattern is #10 in the book "Celluloid Handle Guide for Straight Razor Collectors Reflecting on Fifty Years of Handle Designs (1870-1920)" By Robert A. Doyle. While this example has the same great colors as the one in my book it is different. When I bought mine it was competitive bidding on EBay that put me in at $1,250.!
