Straight Razor Auction Ending 9/16

This offering of rare and unusual straight razors comes from the Estate of Kurt Moe of Minnesota. Kurt was an avid collector of straight razors and a personal friend of over forty years. Kurt bought many of these examples from me over the past forty plus years. This second session contains many unique, one of a kind straight razors and razor sets including celluloid, carved bone, figural cast aluminum, antique stag, sterling silver, tortoise shell, black buffalo horn & more. Kurt and his wife collected many other categories of memorabilia including antique toys, banks, tins, soda fountain items and advertising. We will be offering all of these items at auction in upcoming sessions.

Payment is due by Wednesday, September 18 at 1PM.

Pickup in Pleasant Valley, NY must be completed by Wednesday, September 18 at 3PM.

#152 – Straight razors. Very rare, cased 7-Day set having one carved natural material handle with escutcheon plate and seven individual blades stamped CAST STEEL. The days of the week in etched on top of the blades. Complete and desirable. These one Handled seven day sets are extremely rare and were produced for a very short period of time, approximately 1820-1840. Further, each locking device is numbered to correspond with the specific shaped tang that fits it. In this case the number is "2" which is on the device and the tangs. You could not lock these blades into the handle of any other similar set.
