Straight Razor Auction Ending 6/24

This offering of rare and unusual straight razors comes from the Estate of Kurt Moe of Minnesota. Kurt was an avid collector of straight razors. He was also a personal friend of over forty years. Kurt bought many of these examples from me over the past forty plus years. This is the first session. It contains many unique, one of a kind pieces. His collection is still being unpacked and features straight razors, razor sets, safety razors, barbering items, showcases and more. He and his wife collected other categories of memorabilia including antique toys, banks, tins, soda fountain items and advertising. We will be offering all of these items at auction in upcoming sessions.

Payment is due by Wednesday, June 26 at 1PM.

Pickup in Pleasant Valley, NY must be completed by Wednesday, June 26 at 3PM.

All lots sold as is, where is. There is a 15% Buyers Premium for all lots purchased. Payment methods include cash, MC, Visa, Discover or good check. You can make credit card payment online by going to your Member Area and selecting your invoice.

#102 – Straight razor. T. HESSEN-BRUCH & CO. Germany. Fancy cast aluminum fancy handle. Raised female figure with scroll and advertising. figural cast aluminum handled straight razors are quite rare as aluminum was a new and expensive alloy at the time these Art Nouveau razors were popular. This would have been the top of their line for this maker.

Raised female figure with scroll and advertising. figural cast aluminum handled straight razors are quite rare as aluminum was a new and expensive alloy at the time these Art Nouveau razors were popular. This would have been the top of their line for this maker.

#119 – Straight razor. Joseph Rodgers & Sons Cutlers to Their Majesties #6 Norfolk Street Sheffield. They were in business from 1670-1970. They made some of the finest straight razors to come out of Sheffield during the 1800's.  The blade is fully etched "Hannibal Pugh." Hannibal Pugh was born 1791 and died 1856 in West Virginia.. The natural handle is decorated with inlaid pin pique work. Rare.
