Forbes Family Private Collection, Dong Moy Chu Kingman, Chinese American (1911-2000), Chan Sun Wen School. Watercolor by artist Dong Moy Chu was painted and gifted to Bruce Forbes and his wife Ruth. The painting depicts, “The Highlander,” a 100 foot yacht owned by Bruce Forbes from 1959 until his tragic death in 1964. Bruce Forbes died in 1964 at the age of 49. Bruce was the brother of Malcolm, Wallace and Gordon of the famous Forbes family. The painting is inscribed on the lower left, “To Ruth, Bruce Forbes, Best Wishes to you & the Highlander. From, Pete and Dong.” Also signed Kingman 63, on the lower right, the painting measures 36 ½ “ x 30,” framed. Refer to pictures for condition.
