America's most beloved illustrator of the 20th century, Norman Rockwell is renowned for his depictions of daily life in small town and rural America—a world populated by Boy Scouts, mothers, and children, grandpas and grandmas. Indeed, Rockwell's aesthetic goals revolved around his desire to create an ideal America as expressed in his best-selling autobiography, "My Adventures as an Illustrator "(1960): "I paint life as I would like it to be." He illustrated 318 magazine covers for the Saturday Evening Post in a career that made Rockwell the most popular living American artist. He received the nation’s highest civilian honor, the Presidential Medal. You have the opportunity to purchase some very unique artistic views by this artist that came from the collection of Norman's grandson, Tom Rockwell, who lived in Dutchess County.
