Very unique 7-Day set of ?PACET 195 Piccadilly London?Straight Razors having scrimshawed natural handles having the days of the week at the head end, front side of each handle. All come fitted in their slip top leather slotted case. Very rare maker  and uniquely scrimshawed and fitted.

Very rare single handled 7-Day boxed set made by ?Wade & Butcher.? Tangs stamped ?GcrownR. G(crown)R stamped on tang dates to King George, 1760-1830. Genuine black Buffalo horn handle. These one Handled seven day sets are extremely rare and were produced for a very short period of time, approximately 1820-1840. Further, each locking device is numbered to correspond with the specific shaped tang that fits it. You could not lock these blades into the handle of any other similar set. Note ?Tuesday blade is missing. Very nice leather covered wood case.

Extremely rare six day cased set of JOHN BARBERStraight razors having one full size natural material handle with unique locking device fitted in original box. I have never seen another set like this before in fifty years of collecting! C-1840.

Another fine set ofStraight razors. This Joseph Rodger?s set of four natural handled razors fitted in a brass bound wood case is totally personalized for the owner ?D. G. Metheny, M.D.? most likely this was a prized gift. The handles are scrimshawed to match the engraving on the escutcheon plate of of lid of the case. A quick Google Search brings up some information on Dr. Metheny. It appears he was in Philadelphia. He donated to the Academy of Natural Sciences of Philadelphia and he provided lectures on ?Syndesmology,? the study of ligaments. A great set with provenance.

George Butler fancy case for fourStraight razors. Complete with four George Butler razors. They are not matching. However, they all have natural handle materials and are by the same maker. Two appear to be a matched pair with neat matching blade etchings.

A fantastic 7-Day set having a single natural handle boasting unique silver pin pattern of pique work and seven matching blades fitted in the unique box. C-1825.  Note: Pique work was the art of inlaying tiny silver pins, by hand, into the predrilled holes of the pattern. It was a cottage industry done in homes around the manufacturing city of Sheffield. This artistry was popular from about 1820-1840's. Pique work was performed on horn, pearl, tortoiseshell, ivory and bone. You will not find two identical pieces. Even the pins are set by hand so they are not even in height

Handmade wood case with dividers housing 6 19thCStraight razors with folk art wood handles. Note: Replacement Fold Art wood handles have been witnessed on 19thCStraight razor blades as a testament to the frugality of shavers. Often it was the ?wedge? blade itself that caused the breakage if the blade was closed too far or the handle material was too fragile for the blade (ivory, tortoiseshell, pearl or thin horn scales). These wood handles were very well crafted, sometimes utilizing the original spacer and,or pins. For the past fifty years of collecting, I have not sold any of my Folk Art Handled Razors. However, they will be coming on the market now with the auction sale of my collection.
